About Lisa Robbins

Lisa is passionate about developing people and helping them be the best they can be both at work and personally. She joined Starbucks in July 2013 as the director of partner resources for Starbucks UK with direct responsibility for Starbucks company-owned store portfolio.  In recent years, part of Lisa’s remit has been focussed on developing and leading the skills agenda for the Starbucks business in EMEA.

Lisa joined Starbucks having previously worked at Sainsbury’s and British Gas. She has a breadth of experience founded in retail operations, customer service, organisational development, learning, talent and general HR.  She is passionate about helping young people to improve their employability through Starbucks youth programmes and leads Starbucks apprenticeship scheme and the Headstart programme.

It’s no longer enough for businesses to think onboarding ends when a contract is signed, or that employees will find their own way in an organisational structure. HR needs to take centre stage in leading the Talent Management revival, through asking the difficult questions that every Board needs to hear.
